Because I try to just look and smile and I don’t know how I manage to make the other person feel awkward but I get the impression that I do. Wtf am I doing wrong do I just have an awkward smile if it’s not “genuine”??

Im finding out I already suck at making conversations bc I’m afraid of sounding dumb or boring. I just shut that shit down and don’t speak unless it’s completely relevant/on topic.
For example was talking to this person who I found super attractive but didn’t even bother to try to “make conversation”, didn’t even try to give myself an “in” for the future like “see you around” or whatever LOL hate myself

  1. this heavily depends on where you live and what is considered polite tbh

edit: if you want the conversation to flow one of the best things is to find something that you are both interested in. also, ask questions! if they mention something they seem enthusiastic about, ask them to tell you more. (btw, asking “hey you’re cool, wanna hang out again sometime?” is always ok. worst thing that can happen is they say no)

  2. There are going to be some regional differences. Where I’m from, it’s considered rude to not acknowledge people when you walk past them on the sidewalk. Moved to the west coast and people seemed so confused when I said hi to them.
