Hey y’all so not sure if this is the right sub but I just want to know what could I do to not be looked down upon at work and if it’s a social issue or a matter of simply being incompetent. I work in an environment where needing to be intelligent and having common sense is king but also a very bro heavy poke fun at you often and judgemental (in a good way) workplace. I’m not that smart and it’s painful knowing I’m not but I love my job and what we do but I definitely feel to be slow on the uptake. Socially, I tend to be quiet. I don’t have a lot of life experience compared to all the guys who are significantly older than me. And the one dude who is my age comes off a lot more charismatic and I don’t know what he does differently. I’d like to know if I need to open up a lot more or if I should stay quiet and stay in my place without continuing to come off as awkward and socially inept. Just any advice to not be seen as stupid and weird.
