What are your side hustles, how much do you make, and what did it cost you to start them? What were some of the hardships you wish you knew ahead of time?

  1. I don’t do side hustles, but I have a few side things I do for fun that sometimes make money.

Playing guitar, gardening, aquascaping and shrimp breeding, modelling, and making adult content.

  2. Write books.
I wish I’d known beforehand that I _completely_ lack talent for it, but by now it’s a fun hobby and I refuse to stop.
    I make…oh, maybe a dollar a month? :p

  3. I design and sell t-shirts, mugs, and other merchandise with funny sayings on them. I also do some freelance writing and social media consulting.

  4. I flip on the side occasionally but honestly I’m just selling through the stock I have now and then shutting down my store outside of personal sales. You don’t need any starting capital, just find items around the house you don’t want anymore and sell them, then use that money to invest in more stock. It’s fun and something I enjoy doing, it’s just that my work hours and life priorities have changed and I don’t have time for it anymore.

Currently I’m a web serial writer. I haven’t started monetizing yet but it’s in the works. I already had the computer so the only investment is in my time and creative energy. I already knew the main pitfalls since I’ve been writing off and on for decades now, but I really wish I hadn’t been so impatient. I launched way too early and am still dealing with the effects of that months later. Incidentally that is heavily tied into why I haven’t gotten my act together for paid content yet.
