Got some good news you want to share?

  1. Fancy dinner date (date #8?) for his birthday, invited to sleepover for the first time (we’ve had sex a couple times already though and it’s been good), the weather will be a bit warmer so I plan on wearing a sexy little dress and wrecking him with that and a line of dirty talk before we get our drinks. And I’m bringing over some fancy cake for us to share in between bedroom sessions. For his birthday, obviously.

  2. French guy on Bumble saying he wants to “meet an intense girl” – what could that mean? Passionate?

  3. I’m ready to try dating again after a few months away. I’ve been on Hinge for a week or so, and I’m hoping that the match rate is low because everyone is doing family holiday stuff. Maybe January will be my month?

  4. I committed to one month on Tinder and my premium subscription ends in 2 days. That’s great news because WOW – what a dumpster fire.

  5. Not sure if this qualifies as ‘good news’ but I think I’m ready to get back on the apps after I burned out over the summer. Hopefully I’ll have better luck this time

  6. Just today left at work and then it’s 4 days off again. Seeing the man tonight after we spent last night apart, although we texted loads in the evening. He kept sending me really funny memes which helped a lot with how blah I felt. I love his sense of humour. I don’t love this annoying bug I’ve gotten.

I was joking that he gave me germs then left me to suffer the consequences by myself, but felt bad after making that joke. It’s not a nice thing to say and it’s not at all how I feel. There were 4 kids running around in his house on Christmas, we played with all of them, which also meant about a bucket full of snot. I brought my camera on Boxing Day since my partner doesn’t really have any proper good photos of him and his son, and I took some portraits of everyone in the house and then some fun ones when we went to walk his dog in the orchards. When I was editing the images, the main thing I needed to to was remove snot everywhere. I don’t think there was a single image I’ve taken where the kids didn’t have bits coming out of their noses. I found it so funny. When photographing adults I’m used to fixing skin blemishes and spots. With kids it’s always snot and food stains on their face/clothes.

I don’t normally get colds of any kind. When I worked in offices (before working from home) it was common that everyone around me got ill while I was healthy, living my best life. Now I’ve spent one day in ‘the house of flu’ and here I am, all snotty myself. Two day ago in the evening I felt my throat get scratchy and dry, yesterday was a little rough, and today I already feel much much better. Think I’ll be back to normal tomorrow. Still don’t like it.

Partner wants to go visit his grandparents and take me with. They live in a stunning area of the country that’s about 2-2.5 hours drive away. It’s gorgeous. Perfect green hills, sheep everywhere, beautiful houses, picturesque villages with old pubs that’s been open for literally hundreds of years. I’m not sure we’ll have time, but I’d love to come and take my camera.
His grandparents also sound absolutely badass. His grandad is blind but walks as if nothing, knows everyone in town and gets around with zero issues. He’s also done book binding well into losing his sight. Both my partner and his mum talked about the amazing relationship the grandparents have. Been together 65+ years and are still all loved up. I really like this man’s family, I can see where he gets his values and great traits.

  7. Things are bittersweet atm. Flying back after Christmas with my family in my home country (I am an expat). I wish I could have stayed longer and also, I am not looking forward to utterly miserable and cold weather or to go back to work. My guy (if I can call him that after three dates) is picking me up from the airport though, which is really sweet of him. It will be nice to see him.
