For Latvia it’s definitely Māris Verpakovskis – a player that might ring a bell for some football fans. He’s our top goalscorer and he led Latvia to it’s first and only major tournament – Euro 2004. Most of his career was spent in Latvia and Ukraine however he did have stints in Greece, Azerbaijan and Spain.

There’s only one football player from Northern Ireland that anyone would recognise, George Best.
It’s a pretty good one to have but he is so far above anyone else to have come from here it’s actually insane
“Best Scottish footballer” sounds like a back-handed compliment.
Italy – i would say Roberto Baggio.
Plenty of other meritful players too
That’s hard. Neuer, Beckenbauer, Lahm, Matthäus and Gerd Müller are all **arguably** the GOATS in their position, so any of them.
Probably Roy Keane, even with the 2002 World Cup scenario.
Teemu Litmanen probably.
I mean there are modern stars like Teemu Pukki and Lukaš Hradecky but i don’t think they are on the same level
For sure Michel Platini, with honorable mentions for Zinedine Zidane and Karim Benzema but Kylian Mbappé man … he’s set to break every records
Kevin De Bruyne and Thibaut Courtois.
Especially Thibaut
Johan Cruijff.
2nd place: Gullit, van Basten, Bergkamp
From England, there’s a lot of competition but now thinking back on the ones in my lifetime, it’s all been pretty underwhelming for English players, especially when playing for England.
I think it’s fair to give [Sir Bobby Charlton](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Charlton) the title, who is one of the few players (and the first) to ever win the European Cup, the World Cup and the Ballon d’Or as seen [here](https://i.redd.it/jhcl86x6q49a1.jpg).
