For context: I will graduate this year, and I’m deciding to pursue a career in teaching and/or mentoring. So I decided to work on myself so I can be a good influence on students/juniors (maybe too optimistic but that’s the plan for now).
What are the physical and personal traits that makes others consider one’s words? The voice? The dress? Confidence? Enlighten me, thanks.

  1. The best teachers I ever had all had one common trait, they treated me like a human and not a subordinate.

  2. The answer is a form of confidence mixed with preparedness.

In business school one of my lecturers used to always hammer on the importance of remembering vs knowing and how you carry yourself, an influential person shows up, takes control, fixes the problem like its nothing and then takes over from there while setting new standards for those around him.

Theres a book called the 48 laws of power, If you read the first half it covers off how to gain influence really well, The second half is OK but I felt it was a bit more filler.

  3. There’s a lot that makes a man influential, to the point that you’ll find contradictions. It’s really a vibes thing for big dudes and little dudes, you’ll just have influence and respect sometimes and have some guy call you a looser without any change in your character.

What I learned as a dude is basically this little thing: if you get caught butt naked with your dick out, just say ‘yeah, what about it’ and act like the better man, everyone else gets embarrased not you.

Just a random story I heard from a youtube video that hilariously pieced together masculinity for me.
