Sometimes I make friends who seem really friendly and nice for a few months up to a year but then I discover they are bitter assholes. Am I doing something wrong or are people faking a good personality until they are tired?

1. There are people who can be very charismatic at first. Usually it’s because they know their real personality (the “bitter assholes” side) won’t make them any friends, so they’ve learned to hide it with strangers.

   That’s why it’s recommended that you take things slow with friends and romantic partners. Don’t latch onto someone after just a few meetings. Take your time getting to know them before investing in the relationship.
