Whenever my husband fingers me, in whatever position, with no matter how much lube, I always end up getting scratched on the inside and bleed a drop or two. It isn’t his fault because he keeps his nails trimmed, he isn’t harsh, he doesn’t even feel his nails scratching me but they do.
The last resort is for him to wear a condom on his fingers while he fingers me. Any help or tips?

  1. Rubber gloves? He probably won’t like it but beats putting you out of commission.

Have him use a moisturizer on his hands daily. Might not be his nails, might be rough skin.

  2. Could it be you’re not allowing yourself to fully heal before he tries again? When I had micro tears (outside) I had to wait a few weeks before any activity

  3. He keeps his nails *trimmed* but if he doesn’t also *file* them after then all he’s doing is creating new sharp edges every time he trims them. Try a nail file on all sides of the nails and it may help.

  4. Even with trimmed nails, the mechanics of fingering can scratch you. Think about trying to pick at something stuck to a surface with a trimmed fingernail – you can still do it even if the nail is super short, right? Works the same with whatever surface someone is using their fingers on.

Your husband needs to focus more on using the pads of his fingers than the tips. I.e. more of the part that has his fingerprint than the edge.

  5. It’s not just about trimming his nails. They have to be short AND blunt. The tips have to be filed down not just back. If his nails are sharp enough to scratch an itch with then they are too sharp.
