I basically met him when my cousin recommended him to me. He went to university with her and later on changed career paths to journalism and the media industry.
He was giving a workshop about documentaries and I joined. Ever since then he would give me assignments related to journalism as part of the virtual “mentorship” program.
I know I’m being naive about not seeing this coming through but 2 years later and my skills improved a lot and I’m following a career path I’m happy with. Every now and then we’d send each other updates about our careers etc.
Until last month, he sent me a loveydubby poem and I was like 🥴. This is someone I respect and helped me in my career and vice versa but ever since that message I got the hint and I stopped giving him any updates.
I archived his messages and reply sometimes weeks later. I guess I was hoping that our relationship would strictly remain about careers but I guess not.
I need advice on should I keep ghosting him until the relationship dies alone or be upfront?
