Never. I’ve only lied about having a partner in social/public situations where I’ve feared for my safety (or have been really annoyed) and they guy would only back off if I lied.
Nope. The closest might be when I was seriously talking to someone (but we weren’t ‘together’ yet) and rejected someone’s advances because of it, but I don’t regret that.
If this is the situation you’re in, you can just say you’re not together with the fake partner. After all, they were fake to begin with.
