So I just had my final interview awhile ago and it turned out really bad.

The hiring manager asked me about some process that we do in our previous company. As I was answering her question, I found myself unable to clearly express my point and at the same time stutter. Then even at the end of each sentence, I realize that that wasn’t even the point that I want to say. Somehow it’s just not organized and straight to the point. At the end of the interview, it’s obvious that she was in disbelief and told me that if I really want to be in this position, part of the job is to be able to communicate clearly and and in a way that’s easy to be understood.

To give you a context about myself, I’m an introvert f and I rarely really talk to people. I don’t have any social anxiety but I think if I really want to survive the corporate world, I should be able express my train of thoughts effectively. Any tips on how to do this?

  1. Hey! I can resonate with you on these points. Along with being introverted, I have internal thinking meaning I process inward. Some people process as they speak. Some do it inwardly and need a short pause before answering.

My First suggestion (if u haven’t done this already) is to learn more about you. Taking a personality test helped me. If you’re not doing this already, become more familiar with yourself and accept how you process things and that everyone does it differently. Then (to ur question): build on who you are. I don’t suggest just trying to mimick others who process differently.

Have you tried writing your thoughts out? You’re very clear and concise on paper.
