1) a lot of times, the things they say are difficult to add to, so what do I do in this scenario?

2) how do i change the subject when im not interested in what they’re saying. Lets assume they are talking about their wife or something, how do I switch in a respectful manner?

  1. Try repeating the last thing they said in a different way to know you understand them. Then if you personally don’t like the topic either work it to the next topic you want or bluntly tell them to change the topic without being rude to them.
