Basically the title, i have an online friend that i havent spoken to in a whole year, the last time we spoke was on their previous birthday, and so their next birthday is coming soon and i dont know if it would be creepy or weird for a sudden celebration? I guess its also important to say that they have a gf but i actually dont know if they are still together until now

If you are just sending them a happy birthday message then it’s fine, most people enjoy getting birthday messages!
Maybe keep it casual, short and simple, “Hey! Happy Birthday! Hope you are doing well and have an awesome B’day!” Sometime I add in a “been a while since we chat” but depends on each relationship. There’s people I haven’t talked to in years and sometimes wish them happy birthday over Facebook. The worse that could happen is they don’t respond. But remember there are so many reasons people don’t respond, so take it with a grain of salt! But it shows you care about them enough when you’ve wished them a happy birthday.
