Quick backstory: between 2020 to 2022 I became a professional photographer. Specifically, I do fine art cinematic photography. Here’s a link to some of my favorite work last year: https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/eb58a55447684061899b73592fae9afb?fbclid=PAAaZQ7G4D-twq3C-bX9kE3iQS4JPKf2rdzHTnKhMUu7H1rn3LEbAyZEXLc04

So in 2020, most of my dating app pictures were ones taken with my phone. Pretty decent but definitely not professional. I submitted those pictures to PhotoFeeler and here are my results: https://imgur.com/a/5pquD9E

By 2022, I was able to take some professional quality images of myself that were also reminiscent of my photography style. I also submitted those pictures to PhotoFeeler, here are my results: https://imgur.com/a/0ZPHHgX

Talk about oof. Very humbling to say the least. I thought for sure I would get similar, if not better ratings. Make no mistake, I still regularly match with attractive women on dating apps. Photography has changed my life for the better, made me a more creative and empathetic person. It was the primary catalyst behind me being able to expand my social circle so dramatically. But I guess these results show that me, along with my photography, is still an acquired taste. And that’s okay. I will continue to work hard to better myself.

  1. Biggest thing : you’re not smiling or laughing in any of your shots. Look at the notes women gave you on Photofeeler. How many mention “I wish he would smile more”?

I see it so often when I test pics on photofeeler. Laughing and smiling shots do better than shots where you look cool / James bond-like most of the time. There are very few exceptions to this. Even guys with ugly teeth usually score better when laughing in their photos.
