It always happens that a topic comes up that we don’t know anything about.
However, you can often manage and not feel left out by showing interest in the topic itself, trying to fit in by asking a few questions, probably then during the conversation you will be able to connect those performers, in your case, with those that you know and are interested in.
You don’t have to have a huge knowledge of music or artists, but there are certainly a couple of them that you know.
I think this can be applied in any similar situation when we are not particularly newsworthy and have no knowledge of the subject.
“hey i like songs too!”
i’m obsessed with music / have particular artists i’m enthusiastic about, and for me when i won’t shut up about my favorite music to someone? i’m not necessarily looking for someone who listens to the same music, or looking for someone to relate to. i’m more so giving them a shoutout, like hey check out this band they’re great, and expressing myself and what i’m into.
i do know people that aren’t the same as me and just like having music on but don’t necessarily vibe with particular bands . honestly less common but i know lots of people who just enjoy particular genres for instance
