Hey guys, whenever I’m in a closed space such as a tram or a bus, but generally anywhere where there are people whichever way you look. I wanted to ask where do i look in this situation if i dont have my phone/ a book? I don’t want to be staring at someone’s face or coat, and it’s weird to stare at your feet. I also dont want to look out the window because the reflection makes it look like im staring at someone. Where the hell should i look??

  1. The window is fine. If you’re looking out of the window then the vast majority of people will think that’s exactly what you are doing.

And take it from someone who uses buses every single day that literally nobody cares 🙂

Unless you are glaring at someone with your tongue hanging out, everyone on that bus will have their own stresses and thoughts that they are dealing with and they won’t pay you any attention at all.

  2. Look at everyone and everything on the bus but keep moving your gaze. Don’t stare just keep your eyes moving. If you meet someone else’s eyes, acknowledge them with a nod of your head. Be interested in your surroundings.

  3. Yo, you’re overthinking it man. No one is staring back at you. Looking out the window or at your feet or the floor is fine. Once you zone out yo won’t even feel the anxiety.
