As the title states, my long distance bf will talk to his friend for long periods of time (30+ minutes) while we are already on the phone. It’s always the same person where when this friend wants to talk he will either leave the call or talk to him through the game. The friend then proceeds to talk for a long time, and my bf says he can’t be expected to cut him off halfway through a conversation. When I bring up that it makes me feel like our time is not respected, he yells at me and tells me I don’t let him have any friends and that I’m overreacting. He also says we spend more time calling than he does with this friend, but that’s honestly not true since he’s always busy and we talk maybe 20 minutes before bed on week days. I’m not sure if I’m overreacting, since I can get jealous/sensitive about things that I shouldn’t, so looking for more opinions on if this is normal or not.

TL;DR Bf interrupts phone calls to talk to his friend and ends up being occupied by that for 30 mins to an hour every time.

  1. Don’t call him. Tell him he will have to make the call in future and if he speaks to anyone else while you’re talking, hang up. Don’t explain, just hang up.

  2. I’d give it 2 minutes max before hanging up and telling him to call me back when he’s done.

    That is so bloody disrespectful.
