Does anyone else have social anxiety, possibly a fear of rejection, that embarrasses you and feels de-maculating when you can’t grab the attention of waiting staff? Or bartender? Especially with your partner

  1. No. No fear of rejection. Consider that the servers are looking for someone who needs help. So put your hand up and politely wave and make eye contact, especially eye contact. Then give a nod of acknowledgement. That should be enough. And if they don’t see you, say, “Excuse me,” in a confident voice. If you don’t have a confident voice then practice saying “excuse me” until it sounds confident.
