As the leading UK “ask” subreddit, we welcome questions from all users and countries; sometimes people who ask questions might not appreciate or understand the nuance of British life or culture, and as a result some questions can come across in a different way than intended.
We understand that when faced with these questions, our users may take the opportunity to demonstrate their wit, dry humour, and sarcasm – unfortunately, this also tends to go over the heads of misunderstood question-askers and can make our subreddit seem hostile to users from other countries who are often just curious about our land.

Tasted awful for years now in my opinion. Has a chalky texture.
Went downhill after Kraft took over
I saw a TikTok video a while ago that we tried and tested and can confirm it’s true.
Apparently the chocolate made in Cadbury’s Birmingham factory is to a new and different recipe whereas if you buy Freddo’s, they’re produced in a factory in Ireland to the original recipe in which taste richer and a lot nicer
I was never a great fan of Cadburys, but I’ve become even less of a fan over the last few years
Mondolez now use large quantities of palm oil instead of cocoa butter/oils. I think the general recipe has changed too, Couldn’t finish a bar last time I had some honestly.
Since kraft took over they have moved to more American recipe using powdered milk instead of fresh whole milk
It’s never been great quality but it’s been bought by Americans so now it’s made as cheap as possible and tastes like crap
Don’t like it anymore. There’s a weird coating on you get on the tongue. It also chalky and bland.
Yes! I recently had some and was so disappointed by how not nice it was
People claim it tastes different but I can’t say I’ve ever noticed a change to be honest.
Still tastes good to me
Well Cadburys is owned by an American company, and ever since they took it over the quality has gone downhill. I’ve not touched anything Cadburys for years. I’d much rather have Galaxy
It’s gradually become worse ever since they switched away from small squares
