I (f22) recently had sex for the first time. I was drunk and we did it without a condom. He came inside me so i had to take a pill.
I read somewhere that ipills effect hormones and make you thicker.
I’m generally very healthy, i have my periods on time and they’re not as painful as what many of the girls i know experience (i take this as a sign of health).

Do pills effect any of these, and even more? How do I reset my body back to normal?

  1. Very hard to tell from person to person, but common side effects are available online depending on the pill you are taking.

  2. This isn’t a medical advice sub, so you might wanna ask your gyn about it. I guess you mean the plan b pill. Afaik it has no long term influence on your body and you should be fine. Some people have side effects taking it though.

  3. Emergency contraception is a one-time dose, so it’s effects are generally temporary. You might have a weird cycle with extra bleeding, fatigue, cramps, stuff like that, but you generally wouldn’t see long-term changes.

If you’re taking hormonal contraceptives regularly, you might get some longer-term side effects, but they vary by contraceptive method and brand. Some people gain weight on them, some don’t. If you do have side effects you don’t like, you can ask your doctor to try something else.

If you’re going to be having sex regularly, you need to decide on a birth control method — condoms, the pill, IUDs, implants, etc. Speak with your doctor about what options might be right for you.

  4. This is something you should discuss with your GP or OB/YN

But, it depends on how your body reacts if that makes sense. If you’re just now starting to take pills, it could take up to a month or more for your body to get used to use to the pills.

Your body doesn’t really set back to normal. It is adjusting to a new normal if that makes sense. If you’re taking hormonal birth control, then your body is adjusting to them as the purpose of the pill is not to get pregnant or have painful periods.

It could also depend on the dosage and your overall health.

Talk to your doctor or Gyno as they’ll give you the answers you want.

Side note, if you just started taking the pill, I don’t know if you started taking them this month, but you probably take a pregnancy test if your period’s late.
