Hello there,

Back in late 2020, we published an ad for our study (VisaJe), for which we were looking for volunteers at the time, on the r/sex subreddit – the original recruitment post can be seen here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/sex/comments/kamkbi/academic\_survey\_study\_on\_sexual\_inexperience\_in/](https://www.reddit.com/r/sex/comments/kamkbi/academic_survey_study_on_sexual_inexperience_in/)

I am pleased to announce that one of the first articles that came out of this research has recently been published. This one looks at the associations between bullying at school in childhood and adolescence, and later sexual depression in adulthood. Here is the link to the official page of the article on the journal’s website: [https://www.utpjournals.press/doi/abs/10.3138/cjhs.2022-0022](https://www.utpjournals.press/doi/abs/10.3138/cjhs.2022-0022)

There is also a short blog post that I wrote about our article and my experiences writing it, which can be read here: [https://blog.utpjournals.com/2022/11/29/what-if-bullying-in-youth-could-affect-adult-sexual-well-being/](https://blog.utpjournals.com/2022/11/29/what-if-bullying-in-youth-could-affect-adult-sexual-well-being/)

We hope that you find this study interesting, and we sincerely thank each and every one who took part in our study or otherwise helped with spreading the word about it.

Best regards,

Matvei, DESAJ

  1. Interesting topic! Since I can’t access the full article, I was wondering if you could indicate what the term “sexual depression” means in the context of your article. Just curious.

It makes sense that childhood bullying would have an impact on sexual functioning later in life. I’m glad to see the link explicitly documented in research.
