Every time I’m on a dating app (28m) and I think I get lucky with a girl striking up conversations they suddenly ask for gift cards and stuff for me to pay for. Like, are they all scammers? How do I avoid these con artists?

  1. Yes, they’re a scam.

I’d never ask for money…. maybe dinner, but I’d pay for my own.

Oh, and for God’s sake never send nudes… they’ll use it for blackmail.

  2. I try and match with someone in my city. If they ask you to switch apps to continue talking rather than give you their phone number, it’s probably a scam too.

  3. I’d advise you not to send money it’s probably a scam. I’d be too afraid to even ask a man I actually knew for money in fear that he’d think I’d owe him something in return

  4. every time Im on dating app they will ask for a nude photo 😅 or after i have invested my time and emotions i found out that he’s still married. So if you’re unlucky , I don’t know mine.

  5. Dating apps are difficult to make work, with scammers, bots, the algorithm affecting your profile views and what you see, as well as women being inundated with options.

Try incorporating going out as well, relying solely on the apps won’t do much.

  6. The choice is yours to make because you are the only one who can make yourself to be lucky or unlucky..

  7. Dude! I went through the same thing.
I was on a few dating apps& wound up with women doing the same thing toe so l blocked/ deleted the.
IF they want to actually talk to you, give to them ur phone number& see IF they’ll call.
If not, it want meant to be

  8. I feel like asking for their insta early one can help it’s usually can be easy to tell if someone is a scammer by their insta
