I take Yasmin birth control pills. When I first got them 2 years ago, I wasn’t told by my doctor that they didn’t have to be taken at a certain time but that I had to take 1 everyday.

I take mine a few hours apart, earliest being 7 pm and latest being 11 depending on when I go to bed. Does that matter as long as I end up taking one?

  1. Ideally you would take it at the same time everyday. However with Yasmin, (because its a combined oral contraceptive pill — estrogen and progesterone), you do have a bit of room. Taking it between 7 to 11pm every night shouldn’t cause any issues.

  2. You just need to understand that the birth control pill becomes substantially less effective when you do this. I would highly advise against it
