I think because they have information about fire safety and the composition of the mattress, which may be relevant when it comes to be disposed of.

Basically, these tags were designed to protect mattress consumers.
It’s because you’re not supposed to remove it.
You can’t donate soft furnishings without a fire label.
This is a US thing right? I’ve seen it on US TV shows but never on a mattress in the UK.
The instruction is for the seller, not the consumer.

It’s a test to see how obedient you are, when the govt send the emergency message test all the people that don’t reply will get a vist, if you’ve removed the do not remove labels and stickers this will be used to establish continued intentional disobedience and stuff will occur.
