  1. You’re given the option to travel back in time to kill either baby Hitler, baby Stalin or baby Pol Pot. Which of the three do you choose to kill and why? And if you had the option not to kill any of them, would you take it?

I have strong opinions on this, but I thought I’d see your responses first before I reveal mine when California wakes up tomorrow morning.

  2. I was rereading a story that I started to write a while back but paused like two months ago, I think. I like it, but I will have to rewrite quite a bit of it as it has a lot of technical issues. Oh well, the first draft is you telling the story to yourself, as Terry Pratchett said. I first need to finish it, though.

Yesterday I was watching [an interview between the guy who does etymology videos and a dictionary scientist from Merriam-Webster](https://youtu.be/0p5oNM86Hgw) about how dictionaries get updated, how new uses of an existing word are integrated and so on. It was very interesting and useful, I feel like now I know how to use a dictionary better. I am also convinced that this would have been the right career for me in another life 😔 at least I also like my current job.

How is the weekend going for everyone? I am still thinking of whether I should pull an April prank on someone, but I don’t have any good ideas at the moment. My victim is usually my brother, but I have been trolling him for so long that it’s getting harder and harder. I was also thinking that I would like to camp for a week in Chernobyl one day. I heard that people are not allowed to work there for more than two weeks, because it is too bad for the mental health. Needless to say, I am morbidly curious. Maybe now is not the best time, though.

  3. Listening to my mega playlist on shuffle I heard a song I hadn’t listened to a long time. About a decade ago John Legend and The Roots recorded an album of soul and jazz standards, and one of them was [I Can’t Write Left Handed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hd5lybLUHJo), originally by Bill Withers. The John Legend version is fucking amazing, just a great soul epic that slowly ramps up to its climax.

Another great song off of that album is Hard Times, which was originally recorded by an artist called Baby Huey. That I’m mentioning, because Baby Huey had a version of [A Change Is Going to Come](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL-yjs5_C3s), originally by Sam Cooke, which also a goated 10 minute soul epic banger.
