We’ve been together for almost a year and in November she moved in with me because her parents were moving back from her hometown and I didn’t want her to be living in a cramped house. It was originally only supposed to be until february, max march and it’s about to be may now. she always wants more as far as physical touch and words. i’m not as affectionate, i used to be when i was a kid but i guess as i was growing up i stopped being affectionate. i don’t like to still think about my past relationship because i don’t think it’s healthy but my last relationship was my first ever real love and i guess the breakup and the person changed me into who i am today and it has caused both positive and negative effects. as far as the affection part, is anyone dating someone who is overly affectionate and you’re not or vice versa? i’m just really trying to be better for both of us but sometimes she makes me feel like i’m not doing enough but only because she wants more all the time and i can’t give her that all the time.

tl;dr my girlfriend is overly affectionate and i’m not, help

  1. I’m not sure what to tell you other than to seek therapy considering an ex made you lose interest in physical affection. You might just have a completely different love language. I recommend you and your girlfriend take the Love Language quiz together and discuss ways of showing love that you can both be comfortable with.
