not sure if this post would count here, but I’m pretty shy with showing physical affection, especially small, basic things like hugging and holding hands, and I don’t know how to, but I really want to show my parents and those around me my love and care for them but i get so awkward. I love hugs and just platonic physical affection, but get shy and awkward. anyone have any advice how i can start?

I have a bad relationship with my mom and I feel awkward hugging her and I pretty much never do anymore. But best way is to greet her with a hug when she comes home after work. With my dad. I usually joke around with weird hand shakes haha and then a hug at the end. But we are very close. For people I’m attracted to I will shake hands when we first meet unless it’s a date then a hug. And when going our separate ways always a hug at the end.
