I’m 18 years old. I’ve had a lot of friends but with most of them, I’m the only one who starts the conversations. I never get any replies back if i don’t start the conversation.

I did try a little social experiment and stopped starting conversations for a year and to my surprise, nobody contacted me except one or two people.

My family members ,too, tell me that i should stop starting conversations all the time but I’ll be all alone again if i do that.

What’s wrong with me?

  1. Your overthinking it. Sometimes people just get anxious and overthink conversating.

  2. I understand your view. Well let me explain. People are selfish and mostly looking for enjoyment.

It’s good that you start conversations. They enjoy it.

But once you stop they aren’t interested in taking the effort to start a conversation with you.

Can you give an example of this event occuring?

  3. I have found that people who are actually willing to start conversations are less than the number of people who don’t. Especially as you get older.
