People we’re joking with me and someone made a comment and everyone reacted like it was in bad taste. is that a positive for me?

So I had an embarrassing story that was never supposed to get around but the person I told told everyone else. This was years ago but they still obv remember. We were joking about something unrelated and one person made a reference to the story. Everyone reacted nervously but as if was a low blow or in bad taste. Then they changed the subject.

I like to think that they didn’t want to look like they were making fun of me and a sign that they have a positive view of me.
