Hey everyone, recently (2 months ago) my girlfriend started on the implant and in the past few weeks she’s been really struggling to get into the mood in any way. Times where we would usually be having sex she now struggles to get wet at all and I’m not sure what to do. Otherwise everything has been really good, so removing the implant prematurely isn’t really an option.

I know low libido is a side effect of most birth control forms, but even when she was taking the pill she still had some level of libido, now it’s literally 0.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

  1. I got mine removed because of zero sex drive. I’m much better without it.

  2. I had to do away with mine because of low sex drive- I didn’t get wet as much or wanted sex at all.. Opted for another one that worked and was non hormonal.

  3. Talk to her gyno, find something else that doesn’t cause that. No point in having BC if sex isn’t happening…

Different birth control forms affect libido in different ways. Some reduce it to zero. Consider wearing a condom and not making drastic body changes for her the only way you two have safe sex.
