Don’t know why, but that thought recently came to my mind.

When someone is telling a funny story that is sort of long, it is strange because you don’t know where or when the punchline is. Bonus points for if the person is making tiny jokes in-between the main punchline… you don’t know if what’s the main punchline and what isn’t. If they finish with a less-than-grand punchline and you were expecting more, you end up staring at them like this: 😐 and it’s weird for both of you.

  1. If they know how to do it correctly then it shouldn’t be awkward. Good storytellers know how to change inflection, voice tempo,timing and pitch to give listeners verbal clues
