Some people don’t like the hard truth but it’s better to lay it out and be straight, even if you try telling it to them calmly and composedly they might still get offended or whatever. You said what you had to say, so that’s what matter.
Have you heard of a compliment sandwich. Compliment , say what you want them to improve, end with a compliment. Another good method for real life :
Describe the situation without judgment, express your emotions about the situation without blame , assert your needs calmly, and reiterate what you’re asking for, and be willing to compromise. Be confident. Be gentle with the person & validate what they’re saying.
Of course if they attack you any gentleness goes out the window, but some people will interpret any dissenting comments, opinions, or views as a personal attack or insult so don’t let those people hold you back from trying these methods to get what you need or stand up for yourself
