I don’t watch porn but I wanna know more what it does to your brain
I’m gonna say it’s not nearly as bad as porn, mainly because porn is a visual thing whereas reading is your imagination. I think smut is fine as long as you’re keeping in mind that it’s fictional and unrealistic. I loveeeee me some good smut but I don’t think it has affected my sex life at all because I know it’s not realistic kinds of sex in the books. I feel like it’s the equivalent of watching 50 shades of grey on tv. It’s spicy but not straight up porn consuming your thoughts.
I think it’s only bad if it gives you unrealistic expectations or downright misinformation about sex. 50 Shades of Grey was widely considered harmful specifically because it portrayed literal actual abuse as BDSM when BDSM is supposed to always be safe, sane and consensual.
