It’s very rare when someone tries to approach me to talk, so rare that it surprises me and I don’t know what to say. This can cause me to appear serious or suspicious of them. When they leave I wonder if I made a bad impression. Have many of you experienced this? Did you use any strategies to turn things in your favor?

  1. Yeah, I’ve experienced that too. Sometimes when people approach me out of the blue, I’m caught off guard and end up coming off as rude or distant. But hey, we’re all human, right? It’s normal to get a bit flustered in those situations. One thing that helps me is taking a moment to gather my thoughts and then responding with a friendly smile and a simple greeting like, “Hey, how’s it going?” Just keeping it light and open can break the ice and turn things in your favor. Don’t feel too bad if you make a bad impression once in a while – we all have those moments.
