23F here, I used to think that dating apps are nice because it’s an easy way to meet new people since I find it hard to meet new people IRL. But I feel discouraged to use it again after seeing my friends getting cheated by her bf. They met online and he decided to get back on the apps while they’re still in a relationship. I also met my ex from those apps and we were in long distance, but broke up amicably bc of wrong timing and long distance. But I still feel skeptical about those apps now because I never know what happens behind the scene really. Some are probably already in a relationship or just looking for a casual thing, and it scares me how easy it is to get replaced just like that since it makes meeting new people very easy and instant.

Do people get introduced through a mutual friend? Do you meet at school/workplace? I’m currently in my last semester of university, looking forward to go to grad school next year. But I mostly work from home if I do have a side job, since I’m working as a graphic designer now. How do you put yourself out there without having to use dating apps?

TLDR: I don’t feel like using dating apps anymore to put myself out there and meet potential partners, curious how people meet theirs IRL.
