Been playing around with what I call ‘social looseness”, I’m usually quite closed during social situations, so I thought being more openly myself and being weird and not taking things too seriously and shit can help my social anxiety. I enjoy doing it but I’m not used to bring open so I feel like I’m doing something wrong and I feel autistic, any thoughts?

  1. Well for starters you could not use autism as a slur because it sounds like you do not understand what Autism is and it comes off as ignorance.

Secondly, opening up to friends and family you trust is perfectly normal, depending on the root of your social anxiety, it might be that you feel uncomfortable because you fear rejection (hense saying that being yourself is weird). You clearly enjoy it and I assume feel more comfortable behaving this way. so I would say go get em bud.

Obviously I don’t know what “socially loose” means, you could be saying rude things and being a general dick but as long as you’re not damaging others for no reason, we’re all a little quirky and you’ll be fine. If you are being your self and your friends don’t accept it tho, it might be a good time to put them at an arms distance and build relationships that are mutually beneficial and not taxing on yourself.

  2. I’ve been questioning this a lot too and I felt out of place all my life. But having autism is more than just sucking at socializing. Your issue might stem from something else. Also most people play pretend to fit in the social norms. No one likes to be ostracized or be seen as the weirdo.
