Hello everyone, so I just noticed within my self that whenever I’m with my friend even though I really try to think before I speak sometimes words just comes to my mouth faster than what I think, for example one time when a friend of my drop something in front of my other friends I immediately said “Is that your vape?” even though I’m not supposed that. And the other one being my friend was describing how she didn’t do any mistakes and I immediately said “but your mom did” and we paused after I said that, I apologized when I said those things sincerely because my mouth just literally opens and blurt these things out. How can I solve and repair this social problem?

  1. you can try forcing yourself to take 2-3 beats before you say anything. it’ll prob be annoying and you might miss a few laughs you would’ve gotten if you spoke more quickly but it’ll be temporary and worth it. you could also try regularly meditating which will make you more conscious of your thoughts before you speak

  2. Realizing you’re doing it and that it’s not nice or even funny is a good first step. You *can* stop doing it, it’s just a bad habit you need to lose. Refrain from blurting out answers if they come out like that, and try to focus on thinking before speaking. How would you feel if someone spoke to you that way? If you saw someone behaving like that? Try to keep that in mind in your next interactions and be a little better every time.
