I’m sort of dating this man. Basically every time I joke with him or send him a funny (to me) video he takes it seriously and starts ranting at me, not in a mean way, just about why it’s not funny and his experience and what he thinks and asks me to explain and detail exactly what’s funny about it. It’s a bit exhausting to the point I don’t think I can joke with him anymore. I wouldn’t say I have a niche sense of humour. Does it sound like we’re totally incompatible or is this something to overlook?

Well now I’m curious what types of things you’re sending. Is it possible he’s offended by them?
Either way, I feel like everyone deserves someone who “gets” them and their sense of humor. Overlooking a mismatch in this area is doing both of you a disservice.
