i just integrated into a friend group and someone posted a selfie saying if they looked ugly wearing glasses to which i replied cool glasses and the reply from them was lol i honestly have no idea what to think of this does the person hate me or idk idk really, i am so confused to if it means something or idk

I would advise you not to think so deeply about things like this; it’s a recipe for anxiety.
On to your question: They asked if they looked ugly. You replied, “Cool glasses.” That didn’t answer their question. “Lol” was basically them saying, “Okay,” or maybe even being exasperated by the non-answer.
It surely doesn’t mean anything as extreme as “I hate you.” It either means, “Uh, okay, thanks I guess?” or, optimistically, “Cool, that’s one vote for not looking bad in these glasses.”
