My house owner tells that black bin goes every alternative week and other bins go every week.

Where should i keep these bins? In my home it is close to the road itself and should i bother about keeping the bines somewhere?

What are these bins for as one bin is small as well? Please refer to the image

  1. It’s difficult to tell because different council areas use different colours and types of bin for different kinds of waste.

Your best bet is checking the website for your local council, it should tell you.

  2. Look up your councils website and look for recycling because bins are different colours and things for each council.

  3. Looks like the food waste one I used to have but check on the website before you go putting your potato peelings in it.

  4. You need to go to your local council website to find out what goes in which bin and when they are collected. But almost certainly it’s non-recyclables in the black bin, food waste in the small green caddy, and some form of recyclables in the open green bins (you may or may not have to sort your recycling, it varies from council to council).

  5. Do you mean where to keep them when it’s not pick up day? Either down the side of the house, or to one side of the front, out of the way. Have a look around to where your neighbours are keeping theirs for a better idea.

If you mean where to put them on pick up day – don’t put them on the road, that’s a hazard, put them on the sidewalk with the handle facing your home. Again, have a look at where your neighbours are putting theirs.

  6. Ask your Local Council, or look on the Waste Management section of their website.

Bin colours vary between different councils

  7. The small box with the lid will be for food waste, the two boxes are probably one for plastics and one for metal & glass and the bag is probably for paper and cardboard. A check of your local council’s website under ‘Waste Management’ will give you a definite answer.

Store them where it’s most convenient for you. As long as the correct ones are left where they are in your photo or on the footpath before 7am on bin day they’ll be emptied.
