I was sitting my aunt’s apartment, and wanted to see the garden. On the way down to the garden, I happened to greet the old lady in the unit below- we once met a long time ago. She looked so delighted about this unexpected encounter.

After a brief chat, she insisted we should exchange our numbers so we did, though we didn’t have much business to call each other. I continued the way down to see the garden in the backyard.

Here is the thing. Only several minutes later, I saw her coming out again smiling, and she LOCKED the middle door to the garden located on her floor. WTF?! I only realized it when I came back to the door.

I gathered that she did it so I had to make a call to her for help. Does her behavior make sense to you? Would you consider it a cute action? I don’t. You may say that she probably just did it for security, but from her delighted face like a 5 year old kid’s giggling face, I’m more convinced that she did it to get a call from me.

I’ve been currently experiencing a hard time with many selfish people around me. Seeing this, so innocently selfish act, I feel like I’ve lived wrong, and my whole life values are denied.

In the end, I didn’t call her – I had the keys, so I walked out through the garage.

Do you think I should have called her instead, to play with her, or to please her? Please advise.

  1. Weird encounter and even weirder question from you. No of course you should not call anyone to play with them or please them. You did the right thing. Delete the number and move on.
