Who is the best and worst commissioner in the 4 major sports?

1. Not going to say the best because I don’t know much about Bettman and Silver but Manfred s absolutely the worst. I’m not even sure he likes baseball. If you want one example, when the Astros got caught cheating a few years ago ajd fans were putting pressure on him to strip their championship(which he didn’t end up doing), he straight up called the Commissioner’s Trophy, the reward for winning the World Series and what all teams and players strive to win, a “piece of metal.”

2. Best is Roger Goodell but most liked is Adam Silver (which is why Goodell is the best at his job).

   Baseball’s commissioner is probably the worst and most disliked.

3. Im not sure who the best is, but the worst is [Joe Buck](https://youtu.be/9uoACQyN_mM?si=nOpd7adTH1wlbvpD), and it’s not even close. This guy has taken some of the most dramatic and clutch plays in some of the biggest games in history and made it sound bland. All my homies hate Joe Buck.

   Got to the end and realized you said commissioner, not commentator. Leaving this because I hate Joe Buck enough to leave it.

4. Betteman and Manfred will have to thumb wrestle over who is worse, they’re both too cowardly to have a more serious conflict than that.

   Goodell is hated, but there’s no question he is really good at his job of growing the sport and taking the hits to the shield himself, protecting ownership.

   Silver realizes he has a great product and doesn’t screw it up.

5. Silver is somehow the best of this pretty terrible group. Bettman has expanded the game but is loathed. Goddell is a crash test dummy figurehead who just does what the owners want, they pay him after all. Manfred did see in some important rule changes and appears ready to modernize a bit more, but he’s nearly universally hated. It’s not a job that garners a lot of good will.

6. From a business perspective, the commissioner is responsible to the board and owners as a de facto league CEO. Bettman has done an incredible job growing the sport. I know he was behind a few lockouts, but that shouldn’t be a surprise since his fiduciary responsibility was to the owners.

7. Put some respect on Don Garber’s name. Dude has taken MLS from the verge of folding to where it is today.

   Lately, Bettman and the NHL keep shooting themselves in the foot.

Silver has somehow gotten all this good press as the best commissioner, which I guess he probably is, but they all suck because the job of the commissioner is nearly always at odds with what the fan/consumer wants. Manfred is probably the worst because he seemingly has an open contempt for the game, but it’s all splitting hairs. They’re highly paid lawyers whose job it is to screw over the players association as hard as possible and occasionally get booed.

9. Goodell gets paid $60M a year to destroy evidence and cover for slimy billionaires. Nice work if you can get it.

15. So I’ll have to disagree. Chris Collinsworth is the worst commentator in sports.

    As far as commissioner goes, I think we forget what these guys are hired to do. They are there to do what the owners want. They all do that well.
