I’m 42 and have never had a yeast infection up until now. My newer boyfriend and I recently started started having sex and the first time we did, a couple of months ago, I thought I might have symptoms of a yeast infection a couple days later. No smell, but itchiness, and a mild discharge and what felt like some swelling. I took some yeast infection medication and everything seem to be fine. We didn’t have sex for about 2 months but recently did again. We had sex again for the first time last week and as of yesterday I am having the same symptoms again. Itching, mild discharge, and what feels like swelling.
I was tested as about a month ago as part of my normal check up. According to him, and I trust him, he was just tested about a month and a half ago and hasn’t slept with anyone besides me. But I’m finding myself very confused at what might be happening . Could I be having a weird reaction to sex with him? Could I be having a weird reaction to his semen? I am very confused and plan to contact my Dr but just curious if anyone else had experienced anything like this.
