I think we can all agree that New York City is the megacity of the Northeast, Chicago = Midwest, and Los Angeles = West.
But, what is the megacity of the South?
I’m talking about cities containing: a large population, a large area size/metro area size, cultural significances, and access to everything in the market/economy (air travel, large concerts, transportation, sports venues, etc.).
The first cities that come into mind are Atlanta, Dallas, Houston—all following the 4 aforementioned factors.
