My boyfriends [M20] last name is the same and my [F20] first name, I think it’ll put strain on our relationship later on

I’ve been dating my boyfriend for just under two years now and I know it’s super early to think about marriage but it came into mind because of this issue.

My first name is the same as my boyfriends last name, so for example if I say my name is Sarah three, my boyfriends name is John Sarah. As you can guess, if we decide to get married in the future it means that I’ll become Sarah Sarah. I know I could keep my last name and still be married but I’ve always wanted to take someone’s last name and stick to tradition.

My friend suggested a double barreled name, like Sarah three-Sarah, but to me it still sounds weird. I’ve spoke to him about this and he doesn’t want to take my name which is annoying but understandable I suppose.

So I’m unsure on what to do and it always just pops into my mind and stresses me out because I’ve always wanted to get married but it puts me off with this issue and I feel like it’ll put strain on our relationship further down the line when we properly consider marriage.
