I had recently met with an ex just to see what was going on with their life. We had a pretty good conversation and all but in the conversation she had talked about how she was struggling to make ends meet. I had known this before too but it seemed to have gotten worse. I felt really bad though because it sounded like she wasn’t going to be able to go to college next semester because of her financial issues so I wrote a nice letter and put it in an envelope with $1000 to maybe help her out. I think it was a very kind gesture honestly, however I hope she wasn’t trying to manipulate you. I would be wary of future requests because like a drug, she will come back for more. Don’t let her take advantage of your generosity.
