Hi, I’d like your take on a certain situation (if you can also do me a favor and state the country you grew up in, the country where you’re currently working in, and your job role (e.g. CH/DE/Marketing executive is fine) – if that’s not too much to ask for):

Say you get a new co-worker and after working a while with him you get to know him as a pretty normal personal and nothing much really stands out about him, apart from the fact that he doesn’t drink alcohol. Yet, you hear several odd rumors about him, that don’t seem to align with your experience of him at all:

\- At a previous company he sent a pretty paranoid email to everyone at the company that he’s in very serious danger. After a brief absence from work, he returned to work, saying that he wasn’t feeling well and that the email didn’t mean anything.

\-A few years after the email incident, on his Twitter account some bizarre posts occurred that involved a mixture of utter nonsense, conspiracy theories and racism. These were all deleted after a while, they’re not really available anymore at this point.

\-You also hear that he used to sometimes exaggerate it when going out drinking with his co-workers.

What would your attitude towards this person be? Would you avoid him/rather not hang out with him, be extra cautious around him, avoid inviting him to any activity involving alco, …?

Thanks!
