So someone whose name I didn’t recognize kept messaging me and trying to get my attention.
I finally gave into my curiosity and asked who was messaging me. He told me we used to work together and he’s right. We did. I remembered him. But clearly we were never close because I didn’t even recognize him.
I politely asked him why he was messaging me and he said he was just trying to reconnect with old friends and coworkers. And we’ve just had small talk.
Whether or not he’s trying to pursue me romantically or just become friends with me, I’m not interested. How do I politely decline in this situation?
