And by “conversation” I really do mean *monologue*. They can go on and on with minimal input from others, and by the time you want to respond they have seamlessly changed the topic or added another bit of detail.

There are no openings in which to gracefully let the conversation come to a close or add your own piece of information, and it really does drive me up the wall and since this is a relative I am living with at the moment, there is no escape.

I have mentioned this issue to some friends and they are all just as stumped as me, since they all have their own person like this in their life, and none of them have figured out how to fix the issue either, so we all just suffer through it.

By the end of the day I am just feeling so drained and I don’t want to be rude but since this is evidently their taking style, it’s not going to be an easy fix. I’ve just been isolating in my room because the second I am in a shared space it’s just constant talking and it’s making me annoyed.

This person is nice and genuine, but I am at my wit’s end.

Any help for dealing with these types of people would be greatly appreciated! TIA
