Face-sitting: Do you sit all the way or hover?

I’ve read people say that they sit all the way, and that guys prefer it when you do; but would it not hurt the person giving? Would it not feel uncomfortable for both people involved?
I’ve never experienced receiving oral because I’ve always been so nervous… so any answers would be appreciated😭
